I’ve lived and worked in the Territory for over 50 years, and I’ve called Stuart Park home for more than 20 of those. I first started out in the insurance industry back in 1980, and over the years I’ve worked across a range of roles—but what’s always mattered most to me is helping people make informed choices that protect their future. I’ve always believed in personal service and being there when people need someone to listen, explain, or go into bat for them.
In 1995, I started my own business so I could continue delivering the best possible outcomes for my clients, without losing that local, personal touch. That same commitment is what drove me to advocate for Territory clients through tough times—whether it was dealing with Cyclone insurance claims or navigating the complexities of Workers Compensation.
That advocacy eventually led me to establish Insurance Risk Solutions in 2010—a Territory-grown, Territory-owned business I was very proud to have operated until its sale in 2023.
But my involvement with the community goes far beyond my professional life. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of serving in a range of roles, including:
Vice President Finance & Senior Vice President, NT Chamber of Commerce Inc
Chairman and now Board Member, Amity Community Services Inc
NT Worksafe WRCAC and Scheme Monitoring Committee Member
Past Board Member, Victims of Crime NT
Proud sponsor of St. Mary’s Football Club (NT)
Life Member, Nightcliff Baseball Club
Past Committee Member, St Mary’s Primary School
I’m standing for local government because I want to give back in a new way. I’ve spent decades working alongside Territory families and businesses—and now, I want to bring that same energy, dedication and experience to representing you.
Lyons Ward deserves a representative who listens, who understands the Territory way of life, and who knows how to get things done without the red tape. I’m committed to keeping our community strong, safe, and connected—and I’ll always make sure your voice is heard at the table.
Let’s work together to build a better future for our community.
